NEPTUN

ITEM NO. 40311

GENERAL

The torque of a steam engine comes from the steam pressure and not from the number of revolutions as with other prime movers. That means, the achievement is already present with the first revolution. That particularly shows the steam engine. It moves its heavy course with the first steam impact. With a marine engine the machine is very economical if the number of revolutions is very low with maximum propulsion. That means a diameter of the ship's propeller screw of 90 - 110 mm.

The steam engine "NEPTUN" is the classical machine, which can be used for everything. On the one hand it is a outstanding ship machine and on the other hand a pretty model for stationary plants. It is steered forward and reverse with shell slidegate valve and Stephenson eccentric cams.
With employment as ship machine it can be used up to 30 kg water displacement and a screw of 100 mm in the diameter.
The Neptun is supplied as two-cylinder machine. The kit is finished machined ,
however it is not painted.
